流体由贮蓄器流入管路(pipe line)的入口(entrance)可以分为三大类，图1所示者称方缘入口(square-edged entrance)，图2所示者称圆角入口(well-rounded entrance)或钟形入口(bellmouth entrance)，而图3所示者称为凸缘入口(re-entrant entrance)。图中之CL称为损失系数(loss coefficient)，其定义为hL=CL(V2/2g)，式中之hL表示摩擦损失落差(friction loss head)；而V表示流体速度；g表示重力加速度。故CL 愈大表示摩擦损失愈大（参见re-entrant tube）。
